CSULB now admitting Engineering transfers with only 12 units!

There is a new lower division transfer opportunity for undergraduate Engineering students. Previously CSULB only admitted upper-division students with a minimum 60 transferable units. However, CSULB now recognizes that the total number of courses taken by Engineering transfer students often exceeds the number of units required for the entire program. As a result, CSULB now admits lower-division students majoring in Engineering.

Other criteria for admission remains unchanged. Students must still apply during the priority filing period (Oct. 1 - Nov. 30 for Fall; Aug. 1-31 for Spring) and declare the intent to pursue and complete a major in Engineering. They must meet the CSU minimum eligibility requirements as a lower division transfer including: an eligible CSU index, a "C" or better in each course at community college, and be in good academic standing.

Students also must complete their English and Mathematics GE baccalauereate level requirements. Three units of these requirements must include math equivalent to CSULB's calculus I course. Finally all these requirements must be completed by the term prior to enrollment at CSULB.
